SPONSORED RIDERS

As a supplier of cutting-edge sports protection gear, Alps Gear supports young and upcoming riders who are interested in making sure that they stay well protected while having fun and developing their skills! Our riders wear some or all of our range of protection gear including the Flexmeter wrist guards/gloves, Docmeter air-system helmets and great tailbone protectors: Azzpadz!

LANNIG “LON” CANU

Lon was born in 1993 and lives in London, U.K. He rides regularly at Bracknell, Chatham and Warmwell. Lon started riding in January 2006 and trains 10-14 hours/week! Lon also enjoys other sports including skiing, trapolining, wakeboarding, football and swimming. Lon’s favourite resort is Laax – 2 Alps and loves doing tricks, especially FS cork 5 Tail - 270 on pretzel out - Melon Backflips-FS 540 nose grab-and front flips. Before starting to wear the Flexmeter wrist guards, Lon broke his wrist 3 times …  We now know that Lon is a lot safer with his Flexmeter wrist guards on - he knows the pain and hassel of broken wrists so won’t ride without them! Latest news is that we’re very pleased that Lon placed first in the Rossignol Air Tour Comp in La Crusaz in March, 2008. Great effort Lon!

JAMES LEAMAN

James is the youngest of our sponsored riders and was born in 1995. We are not sure how but James also says he started riding in 2005! His nickname is ‘Weeman’! James lives in Eastbourne and uses all of our products for riding including the Flexmeter gloves, Helmeter air-system helmet, RXR chest protector and Azzpadz. James is doing well in recent contests and is trying new things. He recently travelled to Les Menuires in the 3 Valleys which he thoroughly enjoyed. James recommends that beginners start with safety first and so they can then progress to rails, ramps and even big air with confidence! We look forward to seeing how James progresses over the next few years.
